Volunteering in America

Overall, in Washington in 2016, 31% of residents volunteered, ranking the state 16th among the 50 states and Washington, DC.  This is down from a high of 9th in the nation in 2013, and computes to:

  • 1.6 million volunteers
  • Almost 2 million hours of service
  • $5 billion of service contributed
